STI Poland at Ekiden Relay Marathon in Warsaw

From the office to the running track: when teamwork shows its true meaning

Every day at S.T.I. Polska Sp. z o.o. (STI Poland), our teams work a bit like a relay — even if we don’t always think about it that way.
Shipments move step by step, from one point to the next. Each handover matters. Timing matters. Trust matters.
On 23 May 2026, this “relay mindset” moved beyond logistics and onto a running track in Warsaw. Our colleagues joined the 20th Ekiden Relay Marathon, a team race where collaboration is not just important — it is the whole point.

What is Ekiden — and why it feels so familiar
The Ekiden Relay Marathon is a team event built around one idea: six runners complete the full marathon distance together. The course covers 42.195 km, divided into relay legs so each person runs one stage and passes the baton to the next teammate.
In Warsaw, the event takes place at the AWF campus (University of Physical Education), in the Bielany area — with the race designed as a true team-building experience, bringing together colleagues, friends and communities.

Running as part of the RMHC initiative
This year, STI Poland ran as part of the RMHC Poland initiative — supporting families during hospital treatment.
RMHC Poland’s mission is simple and powerful: helping families stay close when a child needs medical care. On their own website, they describe this as“Rodzina zostaje razem” (“the family stays together”), and they focus on removing barriers and strengthening families during treatment.

According to STI Poland’s update:
  • 800 teams participated overall
  • RMHC had 40 teams
  • STI Poland had 7 people represented across participation (one STI relay team + one additional colleague joining another RMHC team)
The STI Poland team (and a partner on the track)
STI Poland created one relay team, made up of planners: Michał Kalkowski, Mateusz Wrzosek, Bartosz Wróblewski, Wiktor Pycek, and Kamil Ofmański — joined by Artur Sawicki (Axxon Trans), one of STI Poland’s trusted transport partners. In addition, our colleague Ivan Kozaryuk joined another RMHC relay team.
That detail matters, because it shows something we all recognise from daily work: strong collaboration doesn’t stop at operations or within the company. Sometimes, it shows up in unexpected places — including at the starting line.

More than a baton
In a relay race, the baton is small — but what it represents is big:
  • responsibility
  • trust
  • teamwork
  • doing your part so the next person can succeed
For the STI Poland team, this was not just about running a stage. It was about bringing the same values they live every day into something that supports families when they need it most.

Taking Quality the Extra Mile
Quality is not only about how we deliver temperature-controlled goods across Europe.
It is also about how we show up — for each other, for our partners, and for our communities.
This is what Taking Quality the Extra Mile looks like — wherever it matters most.
